Start the School Year and Your Season Strong

A new school year often means a new season, too. New classes. New teammates. New roles. New expectations. And a fresh opportunity to decide how you want to show up.

It’s easy to begin focused on results: Will I start? How much will I play? Will we win? Will I have a good season?

Those things matter—but you don’t completely control them. What you do control is what you bring every day: your preparation, effort, attitude, body language, self-talk, and response to adversity. And those daily choices are where confidence is built.

Confidence is built, not birthed.

You don’t have to feel confident on the first day. You build confidence every time you keep a promise to yourself—when you prepare even when you don’t feel like it, respond to a mistake instead of dwelling on it, encourage a teammate, or do the extra work nobody sees.

Try This: Your Start Strong 3

Before the season gets busy, write down:

1. One thing I will CONTROL: What daily action will help me improve?

2. One thing I will BRING: What energy, attitude, or quality do I want my teammates to get from me?

3. One thing I will REMEMBER: What truth or cue do I need when things get difficult?

Put your three answers somewhere you’ll see them every day. Because a strong season isn’t created by one great performance. It’s created by what you repeatedly do before that performance ever arrives.

That’s the idea behind 365 Days of Confidence: confidence isn’t something you wait to feel. It’s something you practice. One thought. One action. One day at a time. Start the school year strong. Start your season strong. Build confidence you can rely on when it matters most. 365 Days of Confidence: Building Unshakable Confidence One Day at a Time: Matheny, Tami: 9798272049223: Amazon.com: Books
